Ohio State head coach Chris Holtmann said, “Give Michigan State a lot of credit. They were as good as we expected, but give them the credit for pulling out the win. They were better than us in a lot of ways.”
Tom Izzo added of the game, “When you challenge people and those people respond it is probably the best part of my job. That is a good basketball team (OSU) it was a physical game and a good game, I guess for TV, but we have to play better to get to where we want to be.”
Holtmann added of the tilt that, “They are a good offensive team. We put them on the line too much. We made some not so intelligent players and they converted on the line and were efficient.”
The Spartans shot 54% from the field including 33% from the three. The Spartans shot a much improved 81% from the free throw line and had 14 assists on 25 baskets.
