In what has been a whirlwind 24 hours for #5 Michigan State Football and head coach Mark Dantonio. That time period saw fifth top recruits commit to the 2019 class, the last was the biggest.
DE Michael Fletcher from Flint was a plane A top-tier recruit that could have went to any school in the nation and the Carman-Ainsworth star picked the green and white.
When he first received his offer from Michigan State in September of 2017, Fletcher called it his “dream offer.”
While he is one of the best defensive ends in the country and has received plenty of attention for his accomplishments on the football field, Fletcher said that he feels that, just as importantly, the Michigan State coach staff likes the fact that he is a high-character individual and appreciates the fact that the Spartans see him as more than just a football player.
“I think they like me as a person and who I am,” he said. “It’s always great to know that they don’t just like you to play a sport, but they like you as a person too.”
Fletcher had multiple offers including Alabama and Michigan. We are here in Flint and will have an interview on SpartanNation.com soon so stay tuned for more.
