Big Ten Announces 2018-19 Hockey Conference Schedule
The Spartans will open league play at home on Nov. 16 vs. Notre Dame.
EAST LANSING — The Big Ten Conference announced the 2018-19 league hockey schedule on Tuesday, May 22. Like last year, all seven league teams will play 24 conference games.
MSU’s complete 2018-19 schedule will be released in the coming weeks. Times and television designations will be announced separately closer to the start of the season.
The Spartans will begin their conference schedule at home, Nov. 16-17, when Notre Dame visits Munn Ice Arena.
Michigan State’s first Big Ten road series of the year will be over Thanksgiving weekend at Minnesota, Nov. 23-24.
Archrival Michigan will come to East Lansing on Nov. 30, while the Spartans will travel to Ann Arbor the following night, Dec. 1.
The final league series of the calendar year will take place at Wisconsin, Dec. 7-8.
Michigan State will play four home games in January 2019, beginning Jan. 4-5 vs. Ohio State.
After a trip to Penn State, Jan. 11-12, the Spartans will host Minnesota at Munn, Jan. 18-19.
The Spartans will close the month at Notre Dame, Jan. 25-26.
MSU will start the final full month of the regular season at home vs. Wisconsin, Feb. 1-2. The following weekend, the Spartans will complete their season series with Michigan, Feb. 8-9.
The final homes games of the season will be Feb. 15-16 vs. Penn State as the Spartans’ get their bye week in the last weekend of February.
The regular season will come to a close March 1-2 when MSU visits Ohio State.
The Big Ten Tournament will begin with the best-of-three quarterfinal series, March 8-10, as the second-, third- and fourth-seeded teams will each host a series. The semifinals will be March 16 and the championship game on March 23, all played at campuses of the higher-seeded teams.
