Few players out of the class of 2020 have seen offers pour in as fast as Sterling (VA) Dominion offensive lineman Jimmy Christ in recent months as the 6-foot-6, 270-pound standout is up to nine offers after receiving an offer from #15 Michigan State recently.
Spartan Nation recently caught up with Christ to talk about his new offer from the Spartans and Christ said that he was obviously excited to receive the offer from Michigan State and later added that he is very interested in the Spartans at the moment.
“It’s awesome, me and my coach are really fired up about it,” he said. “My parents are really excited about it, as are my brothers.”
“Of course,” he added. “I’m very interested in them.”

Along with his offer from Michigan State, Christ holds offers from Maryland, Syracuse, Boston College, Virginia, Rutgers and most recently, Louisville. Christ’s older brother, Tommy, currently plays for Virginia.
Christ said that he learned of his offer from Michigan State defensive tackles coach Ron Burton, who also relayed to him that the Spartan coaching staff is also considering him as a defensive lineman.
“It was awesome,” he said. “I saw the D-line coach come in earlier this year and then he showed up on Wednesday. He said I had an offer and he said he would be evaluating me for D-line as well.”
When it comes to preference, Christ said that while he believes he is a better offensive lineman he enjoys playing on both sides of the ball.
“I like D-line as well, but I think I’m a better offensive lineman,” he said. “But I enjoy playing both.”
When it comes to playing along the offensive line, Christ said that he feels his main strength is his ability to pass block, as well as his athleticism and size.
“Pass blocking, I’m very good at pass blocking,” he said. “I can move very well and I’m long.”
On the defensive line, Christ told Spartan Nation that he feels his ability to rush the quarterback from the defensive end position.
“I’m a fast defensive end,” he said. “I’m really good at containing and rushing the ball as well.”
But with plenty of time left before he needs to make a decision, Christ is thankful for all of the attention he’s received on the recruiting trail and will be taking his time throughout the recruiting process.
“God will bring me to the right place, I pray to God and thank Him every night for what’s been happening the last few weeks.”
