San  Diego, CA

Santa must have forgotten a present because Christmas night he turned his sleigh around and delivered to the Spartan Nation a top tier 2019 athlete from Georgia in Jordan Huff.  He is the 4th commitment for the #16 Spartans in the 2019 class.

Huff has made the trip up to East Lansing on multiple occasions and each time he and his family continued to see exactly what they were looking for in a new home.  He told Spartan Nation of what made him pull the trigger to commit no, “The love I felt from the coaches am how much I could see my self in East Lansing.”

The Spartans love his versatility.  Huff brings exceptional ball skills and can move effortlessly when the ball is in the air.  He also has super hands and is a ferocious hitter.  While he certainly is an athlete that can play both sides of the ball he will start his career working with the offensive backs under the tutelage of Harlon Barnett.

He told Spartan Nation that the coaches, “They say they like that I can play either side but i will be getting recruited as a defensive back.”  That is where they would be thrilled to see him stay.  Should he continue to gain size and grow he easily could move to safety or even outs linebacker with his headhunting hitter skills.  He is the rare breed of skill player that loves contact.

But for Huff, being a Spartan means a lot.  It means that he trusts the coaches and the process.  MSU is a loaded team at DB, but that is OK.  Because according to Huff, being a Spartans means simply “It means you earn everything you have.”   He will fit in nicely in East Lansing.

Huff now joins a long list of Spartans to come to East Lansing from the Peach State.  Spartan Nation predicts that Michigan State will land at least three players from there in the 2019 class and it could be even more.  Dave Warner the offensive coordinator is the main Georgia recruiter, but not the only one.  Jim Bollman was a key part of landing Huff. Warner has done a terrific job combing the state searching for talent and building relationships there.

The Spartans will play #18 Washington State in the Holiday Bowl tomorrow at  9 PM EST.  That game can be seen on FS1.
