Yesterday Spartan Nation reported that former Michigan State Guard Keith Appling was being investigated after being arrested on Sunday night at the Pantheion Strip club in Dearborn, Michigan. As we reported he was accused of bringing a loaded AK-47 to the club, but NOT bringing it in, leaving it in the vehicle.

Today we have learned that Appling has now been charged with two misdemeanors and a felony in connection with that incident. Appling has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle and possession of marijuana. That news was announced by the Wayne County prosecutor’s office today.

At 6:47 PM on Sunday the police were called to the Pantheion, after security personnel saw a man take a gun out of his trunk. After a search of the vehicle, the police say they found a handgun under the driver’s seat, a small amount of what is believed to be marijuana, and a loaded weapon in the trunk.

Appling was then arrested. His arraignment will take place today at the 19th District Court in Dearborn. Appling is now accused of carrying a concealed weapon, a felony. Additionally he is accused of possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle and possession of marijuana, both misdemeanors in the state of Michigan.

Appling played at MSU from 2010-2014.
