The Michigan State Spartans are rolling in football. Of course one of the key ingredients is the quarterback position. With former Spartans Drew Stanton, Kirk Cousins, Nick Foles and Brian Hoyer all having success currently in the league, the Spartans have become NFLQBU.
With that long lineage of success the nation’s eyes of pro football minds is gathered this week here in Indianapolis for the league’s annual meat market and they are looking at MSU QB Connor Cook. There is no argument over Cook’s win and loss record at MSU, now it’s time to show more of himself to the NFL’s power brokers.
MSU head coach Mark Dantonio spoke about how important this combine is for Cook. Dantonio said, “I think just as important as pro day probably. Because at pro day you have a little more of an opportunity to make it all about you for a half of an hour probably as you move forward. The combine allows them see you along with everyone else and I think he will perform very very well. It just takes one team to draft ya and who has a need and where they are at. You never know how it is going to shake out, but he is a great player and has had great success here.”
You can watch the NFL combine all week on the NFL Network. The Spartans have seven players competing including Cook, Jack Conklin, Jack Allen, Lawrence Thomas, Shilique Calhoun, Aaron Burbridge and DT Joel Heath.
