Devin Thomas played a key part in the New York Giants’ thrilling 20-17 overtime win over the 49ers. Thomas recovered two fumbles on punt returns, leading to a touchdown in the fourth quarter and the game-winning field goal in overtime. “I’m just happy to make a play,” he said. “I’ve always wanted to go to the Super Bowl, and now I’m headed there.” Thomas also added on a special teams tackle in the game. Fellow Spartan and Giant Greg Jones racked up three special teams tackles on the day.

Former Spartan quarterback Brian Hoyer and the New England Patriots earned the right to play the Giants in the Super Bowl with a breathtaking 23-20 victory over the Ravens. Hoyer did not play in the game. Ravens defensive tackle Brandon McKinney was not active for the contest.

No matter which team wins the game, a Spartan will have the chance to hold the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Here is the matchup for the game.
