DETROIT – The Detroit Tigers announced the club has placed righthanded pitcher Fernando Rodney on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 21 with bicep tendinitis.  To take Rodney’s spot on the club’s roster, the Tigers have recalled the contract of righthanded pitcher Zach Miner from Triple A Toledo.
Rodney has appeared in 19 games for the Tigers in 2007, compiling a 1-4 record, 4.71 ERA (21.0IP/11ER), one save and 18 strikeouts.
Miner will be joining the Tigers for the second time this season.  He started one game for Detroit at Boston on May 17, allowing two runs (one earned) in 5.1 innings.  In nine games (eight starts) with Toledo, Miner is 1-4 with a 5.07 ERA (49.2IP/28ER).  He has compiled a 0.87 ERA (20.2IP/2ER) over his last three starts with the Mud Hens.
